Monoclonal Mouse Anti-
Villin
Clone 1D2 C3
Villin is a 95 kDa calcium-regulated, actin-binding protein that plays a role iin regulating actin filament assembly.
It is a major constituent in the microvilli, which compose the brush border of epithelial cells forming absorptive surfaces of the intestinal and renal proximal tubular epithelia. In normal human tissue, villin is expressed by a limited number of simple epithelia of the gastrointestinal and urogenital tract. Among neoplasms, villin is predominantly expressed in tumors of colorectal origin. Antibodies to villin are useful in identifying malignant cells from primary and metastatic colorectal carcinomas.
Renal cell carcinoma (FFPE) stained with FLEX Anti-Villin, Code IS076/IS076.
Renal cell carcinoma. The majority of the neoplastic cells show a strong predominantly membranous staining reaction.
Clinical application for IR076/IS076 For identification of colon adenocarcinomas and renal cell carcinoma.
Disclaimer: Due to variances among color computer monitors, the colors you see on your screen may not be the exact colors of the stain. The image you see should be considered close renditions to the actual stain.
- Optimized staining performance of both high- and low-expression structures
- Crisp and clear staining with no background
- Optimal laboratory efficiency with ready-to-use antibodies on Dako Autostainer Link 48
FLEX Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Villin, Clone 1D2 C3, Ready-to-Use (Link), is intended for use in immunohistochemistry together with Autostainer Link instruments. This antibody is useful for the identification of colon adenocarcinoma (1, 2) and renal cell carcinoma. The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
