Lung infected with Pneumocystis jiroveci. The cyst walls of the Pneumocystis jiroveci show a moderate to strong staining reaction, while the trophozites show a weak to moderate, diffuse and granular staining reaction.

Intended Use
For in vitro diagnostic use.
FLEX Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human Pneumocystis Jiroveci, Clone 3F6, Ready-to-Use (Link), is intended for use in immunohistochemistry together with Autostainer Link instruments. This antibody is useful for the identification of Pneumocystis jiroveci (P. jiroveci) (1). The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
FLEX Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human Pneumocystis Jiroveci, Clone 3F6, Ready-to-Use (Link), is intended for use in immunohistochemistry together with Autostainer Link instruments. Immunogen
Crude extract of P. jiroveci infected lung tissue (2).
Specificity
In Western blotting of isolated P. jiroveci, the antibody labels an 82 kDa parasite-specific component (2). The antibody shows no cross-reactivity with human lung tissue and various rat tissues. Furthermore the antibody shows no cross-reactivity with Aspergillus fumigatus, Candida albicans, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, Leishmania tropica, Plasmodium falciparum, Toxoplasma gondii, Trypanosoma cruzi, Trypanosoma gambiense (2) and Cryptosporidium sp. (5).

Ready-to-use monoclonal mouse antibody provided in liquid form in a buffer containing stabilizing protein and 0.015 mol/L sodium azide.
