Monoclonal Mouse Anti-
Villin
Clone 1D2 C3
Villin is a 95 kDa calcium-regulated, actin-binding protein that plays a role iin regulating actin filament assembly.
It is a major constituent in the microvilli, which compose the brush border of epithelial cells forming absorptive surfaces of the intestinal and renal proximal tubular epithelia. In normal human tissue, villin is expressed by a limited number of simple epithelia of the gastrointestinal and urogenital tract. Among neoplasms, villin is predominantly expressed in tumors of colorectal origin. Antibodies to villin are useful in identifying malignant cells from primary and metastatic colorectal carcinomas.
Colon adenocarcinoma (FFPE) stained with FLEX Anti-Villin, Code IS076/IS076.
Colon adenocarcinoma. The neoplastic cells show a strong membranous and cytoplasmic staining reaction.
Clinical application for IR076/IS076 For identification of colon adenocarcinomas and renal cell carcinoma.
Disclaimer: Due to variances among color computer monitors, the colors you see on your screen may not be the exact colors of the stain. The image you see should be considered close renditions to the actual stain.
- Optimized staining performance of both high- and low-expression structures
- Crisp and clear staining with no background
- Optimal laboratory efficiency with ready-to-use antibodies on Dako Autostainer Plus
FLEX Monoclonal Anti-Villin, Clone 1D2 C3, Ready-to-Use (Dako Autostainer/Autostainer Plus), is intended for use in immunohistochemistry together with Dako Autostainer/Autostainer Plus instruments. This antibody is useful for the identification of colon adenocarcinoma (1, 2) and renal cell carcinoma (1). The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
