Cytokeratin, Wide Spectrum Screening
Cow keratin has been used as immunogen. This antibody is particularly well-suited for the staining of a broad spectrum of human keratins and may be useful in the identification of neoplasm of epithelial origin.
- Excellent specificity
- High lot to lot consistency
- Optimized for immunohistochemistry (IHC) with validated protocols
- Certified manufacturing facilities guarantee full quality control

For in vitro diagnostic use.
Anti-Cytokeratin, Wide Spectrum Screening (WSS) is intended for laboratory use to identify qualitatively by light microscopy keratin positive epithelial cells in normal and neoplastic tissues using immunohistochemical (IHC) test methods. Positive results aid in the classification of normal and neoplastic tissue as epithelial in origin and serve as an adjunct to conventional histopathology. Differential identification is aided by the results from a panel of antibodies. Interpretation must be made within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
Bovine muzzle epidermal keratin subunits of 58, 56 and 52 kD; less abundant subunits of 60, 51 and 48 kD (1,2).
In general, most low molecular weight cytokeratins (40-54 kD) are distributed in nonsquamous epithelium, Moll's catalog numbers 7-8 and/or 17-20. High molecular weight cytokeratins (48-67 kD) are found in the squamous epithelium, Moll's catalog numbers 1-6 and/or 9-16.
Rabbit anti-cytokeratin, WSS is a purified immunoglobulin fraction of rabbit antiserum in 0.05 mol/L Tris-HCl, pH 7.6, and 0.015 mol/L sodium azide.
