Monoclonal Mouse Anti-
Epstein-Barr Virus, LMP
Clone CS.1-4
Labels the Epstein-Barr virus-encoded latent gene product, latent membrane protein (LMP).
The antibody can be used for the demonstration of latent EBV infection in cells and tissues. It has been found that EBV is associated with a high proportion of cases of Hodgkin's disease (1). LMP expression has also been found in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and non-lymphoblastic T-cell lymphoma (2, 3).

Burkitt lymphoma (FFPE) stained with FLEX Anti-Epstein-Barr Virus, LMP, Code IR753/IS753.
Burkitt lymphoma/leukemia. Burkitt lymphoma/leukemia cells show a strong membranous and cytoplasmic staining reaction for Epstein-Barr virus.
Clinical application for IR753/IS753 For identification of Epstein-Barr virus-infected cells expressing the latent membrane protein (LMP-1) such as in Hodgkin lymphoma, Burkitt lymphoma/leukemia and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
Disclaimer: Due to variances among color computer monitors, the colors you see on your screen may not be the exact colors of the stain. The image you see should be considered close renditions to the actual stain.
- Optimized staining performance of both high- and low-expression structures
- Crisp and clear staining with no background
- Optimal laboratory efficiency with ready-to-use antibodies on Dako Autostainer Link 48
FLEX Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Epstein-Barr Virus, LMP, Clones CS.1-4, Ready-to-Use (Link), is intended for use in immunohistochemistry together with Autostainer Link instruments. The antibody labels Epstein-Barr virus-infected cells expressing the latent membrane protein (LMP-1), and is a useful tool for the identification of tumor cells in Epstein-Barr virus-associated Hodgkin's disease (1-3) and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (4). The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
The antibody labels a normal EBV-positive lymphoblastoid cell line established by infection of normal resting B-cells with B95.8 virus, whereas the BL2 cell line, established from a rare EBV-negative sporadic BL-patient, as well as other unrelated cell isolates, including tonsillar B and T lymphocytes, fetal liver and thymus, cultured fetal fibroblasts, human leukaemic cell lines HSB2 and K562 and 7 EBV-negative B-cell lines show no labeling, except the cellular doublet proteins (7).
Clone: CS.1, CS.2, CS.3 and CS.4 Isotype: IgG1, kappa.
