CD34 is a single-chain transmembrane protein of approximately 116 kDa, expressed on immature hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, capillary endothelial cells, embryonic fibroblasts and rare glial cells in nervous tissue.
CD34 is a stage-specific, rather than a lineage-specific, leucocyte differentiation antigen. The antibody is useful for the identification of vascular and lymphatic tumors and for the subclassification of leukemias.

Intended Use
For in vitro diagnostic use.
FLEX Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human CD34 Class II, Clone QBEnd 10, Ready-to-Use (Dako Autostainer/ Autostainer Plus), is intended for use in immunohistochemistry together with Dako Autostainer/Autostainer Plus instruments. This antibody is useful for the identification of vascular and lymphatic tumors and for the subclassification of leukemias (1-3). The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.

Immunogen
Endothelial cell membranes obtained as vesicles from human placenta (6, 8).
Specificity
Anti-CD34, QBEnd 10, was included in the Fourth and Fifth International Workshops and Conferences on Human Leucocyte Differentiation Antigens, and studies by different laboratories confirmed its reactivity with the CD34 antigen (6, 8) and the class II epitope (8).
