Reacts with the 54 kDa protein corresponding to cytokeratin 7.
The antibody labels several types of normal and neoplastic epithelia, including many ductal and glandular epithelia. Clone OV-TL 12/30 has been found useful for the identification of adenocarcinomas of the lung, breast and endometrium, thyroid gland and ovary, as well as chromophobe renal cell carcinomas. Antibodies to cytokeratin 7 may also be useful in the differential diagnosis of prostate carcinomas where CK7 is rarely expressed.

Serous ovarian carcinoma. A strong cytoplasmic staining reaction is seen in the neoplastic cells.
Clinical application for IR619/IS619. For identification of tumors of unknown origins and for staining of cytokeratin 7 in glandular and transitional epithelial cells appearing in various tumors.
Breast lobular carcinoma. The majority of the neoplastic cells show a distinct and predominantly cytoplasmic, but also membrane accentuated staining reaction.
Clinical application for IR619/IS619. For identification of tumors of unknown origins and for staining of cytokeratin 7 in glandular and transitional epithelial cells appearing in various tumors.
Pancreas. The epithelial cells of the large acinar ducts show a moderate to strong staining reaction, whereas the epithelial cells of the intercalating pancreatic ducts show a weak to moderate staining reaction. The pancreatic acinar cells are negative.
Recommended control for IR619/IS619. Pancreas/Breast.

The antibody labels glandular and transitional epithelial cells and is a useful tool for the identification of adenocarcinomas of the lung (1, 2), breast and endometrium, thyroid gland (1, 3) and ovary (1, 4), as well as transitional cell (urothelial) carcinomas (1), and chromophobe renal cell carcinomas (5). The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.

Specificity
In one- and two-dimensional SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting of Triton X-100-extracted cytoskeleton preparations of several cell cultures and tissues, the antibody labelled a 54 kDa band corresponding to cytokeratin 7 (1).
Reagent Provided
Monoclonal mouse antibody provided in liquid form as cell culture supernatant dialysed against 0.05 mol/L Tris/HCL, pH 7.2, and containing 15 mmol/L NaN3.
