Mantle cell lymphoma. The neoplastic cells show a moderate to strong membraneous staining reaction.
Clinical application for IR082/IS082. For identification of B- and T-cell malignancies, including B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia/ small lymphocytic lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, and T-cell lymphoma and leukemia.
Tonsil. The crowded T cells in the T-zone and the scattered T cells in the germinal center show a moderate to strong staining reaction. In the mantle zone, a weak membranous staining reaction should be seen in scattered B cells.
Recommended control for IR636/IS636. Tonsil.

The antibody labels CD5-positive cells and may be useful for the identification of B- and T-cell malignancies including B-cell chronic lymphoid leukemia (B-CLL), B-cell small lymphocytic lymphoma (B-SLL), mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and T-cell lymphoma and leukemia (1-4). The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
