Reacts with natural killer cells and a subset of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in peripheral blood.
Outside the hematopoietic system, CD56 is expressed in a number of tumors, including neuroblastomas and small cell lung cancer (SCLC).
Carcinoid tumor (FFPE) stained with FLEX Anti-CD56, Code IR628/IS628.
Carcinoid tumor. The majority of the neoplastic cells show a predominantly membranous staining reaction.
Clinical application for IR628/IS628. For identification of natural killer (NK) cells, NK-like T cells, neural/neuroendocrine tissues and their neoplasms such as small cell carcinoma of the lung and carcinoid tumor.

FLEX Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human CD56, Clone 123C3, Ready-to-Use (Dako Autostainer/Autostainer Plus), is intended for use in immunohistochemistry together with Dako Autostainer/Autostainer Plus instruments. This antibody is useful for the identification of natural killer (NK) cells, NK-like T cells, neural/neuroendocrine tissues and related neoplasms (1). The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
