C3c Complement
The antigen used for immunization is C3c. Thus the antibody reacts both with C3c as well as with the C3c part of native C3 and C3b. There is no reaction with C3d and C3a.

Intended Use
For in vitro diagnostic use.
F0201 is intended for the demonstration of complement C3 in tissue sections, and may also be used for other immunofluorescence techniques (1). Interpretation of results must be made within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a certified professional.

Immunogen
C3c complement isolated from complement-activated human serum.
Specificity
The antibody reacts with human C3c complement and with the C3c part of C3 and C3b. Traces of contaminating antibodies have been removed by solid-phase absorption with human plasma proteins.
The specificity has been ascertained as follows:
Crossed immunoelectrophoresis: Only reactivity with C3 complement and its C3c-containing fragments is observed when using unconjugated antibody corresponding to 40 µL F 0201 per square cm gel area against 2 µL human plasma. Staining: Coomassie Brilliant Blue.
In rocket immunoelectrophoresis, the antibody cross-reacts with C3c complement from all of 11 animal species tested so far: Cat, cow, dog, goat, guinea pig, horse, mink, mouse, rat, sheep and swine (2).

Reagent Provided
F0201 is the purified immunoglobulin fraction of rabbit antiserum conjugated with fluorescein isothiocyanate isomer 1. The conjugate is provided in liquid form in phosphate buffer containing 15 mmol/L NaN3, pH 7.2.
Protein concentration g/L: See label on vial.
Antibody titre: 400 mg/L (mg of antigen to be added to 1 L of conjugate to reach equivalence point).
F/P ratio: E495 nm/E278 nm = 0.65 ± 0.05 corresponding to a molar FITC/protein ratio of 2.5.
