CD99, MIC2 Gene Products, Ewing's Sarcoma Marker
Clone 12E7
The MIC2 gene products are also called p30/32mic2.
They are expressed on the cell membrane of some lymphocytes (bone marrow, lymph nodes and spleen), cortical thymocytes, granulosa cells of the ovary, most Langerhans' islet cells, CNS ependymal cells, Sertoli's cells of the testis and, in a few cases, endothelial cells of single blood vessels. Among neoplastic tissues, the MIC2 gene products are most strongly expressed on the cell membrane of Ewing's sarcoma and primitive peripheral neuroectoderm tumors.
Isotype IgG1, kappa
- Frozen
- Formalin
Ewing's sarcoma (FFPE) stained with FLEX Anti-CD99, Code IR057/IS057.
Ewing's sarcoma. Most tumor cells show a strong membranous and cytoplasmic staining reaction.
Clinical application for IR057/IS057. For identification of glioblastomas and ependymomas of the CNS, certain islet cell tumors of the pancreas, Ewing's sarcoma, granulosa cell tumor and primitive peripheral neuroectodermal tumors.
Granulosa cell tumor. The neoplastic cells show a weak to moderate membranous and cytoplasmic staining reaction.
Clinical application for IR057/IS057. For identification of glioblastomas and ependymomas of the CNS, certain islet cell tumors of the pancreas, Ewing's sarcoma, granulosa cell tumor and primitive peripheral neuroectodermal tumors.
Pancreas. The pancreatic islet cells show a moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining reaction.
Recommended control for IR057/IS057. Pancreas/Tonsil/Thymus.
Tonsil. The squamous epithelial cells show a weak to moderate membranous staining reaction. The lymphocytes should a show a weak to moderate and predominantly membranous staining reaction.
Recommended control for IR057/IS057. Pancreas/Tonsil/Thymus.
Ewing's sarcoma stained with Anti-CD99.
Clinical application for IR057/IS057. For identification of glioblastomas and ependymomas of the CNS, certain islet cell tumors of the pancreas, Ewing's sarcoma, granulosa cell tumor and primitive peripheral neuroectodermal tumors.

Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human CD99, MIC2 Gene Product, Ewing's Sarcoma Marker, Clone 12E7 is intended for laboratory use to identify qualitatively by light microscopy CD99, MIC2 gene product in normal and malignant cells using immunohistochemical (IHC) test methods. Positive results aid in the classification of tumors of the lung and thyroid. The clinical interpretation of any positive staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological and histological studies with proper controls. Evaluations should be made within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified individual.
Clone: 12E7 (1). Isotype: IgG1, kappa.
Mouse lgG concentration mg/L: See label on vial.
The protein concentration between lots may vary without influencing the optimal dilution. The titer of each individual lot is compared and adjusted to a reference lot to ensure a consistent immunohistochemical staining performance from lot-to-lot.
