Polyclonal Rabbit Anti-Human
Chromogranin A
The antigen used for immunization is the C-terminal half (Mr 23000) of chromogranin A isolated from urine of patients with carcinoid tumors.
A reference to the use of anti-chromogranin in the study of tumors of neuroendocrine origin is (1).

Medullary thyroid carcinoma (FFPE) stained with FLEX Anti-Chromogranin A, Code IR502/IS502.
Medullary thyroid carcinoma. The majority of the neoplastic cells show a distinct cytoplasmic staining reaction.
Clinical application for IR502/IS502. For identification of neuroendocrine cells and tumors with neuroendocrine differentiation.
Small cell lung carcinoma. The majority of the neoplastic cells show a finely granular, distinct cytoplasmic and focally dot-like staining reaction.
Clinical application for IR502/IS502. For identification of neuroendocrine cells and tumors with neuroendocrine differentiation.
Colon. The neuroendocrine cells in the epithelial surface show a moderate to strong coarse cytoplasmic staining reaction, whereas the epithelial cells are negative.
Recommended control for IR502/IS502. Appendix/Colon/Brain.
Colon. The axons and perikarya of the neurons and ganglion cells in the submucosa and in the tunica muscularis show a weak to moderate granular cytoplasmic staining reaction. No staining of the surrounding muscle cells
Recommended control for IR502/IS502. Appendix/Colon/Brain.

Polyclonal Rabbit Anti-Human Chromogranin A, Code A0430, is intended for the determination of chromogranin A in immunohistochemistry (1). The antibody labels chromogranin A present in secretory granules of endocrine cells. Chromogranin A is a marker for neuroendocrine differentiation and antibodies to chromogranin A are useful for identification of neuroendocrinederived tumors. Differential identification is aided by the results from a panel of antibodies. Interpretation of results must be made within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a certified professional.
Crossed immunoelectrophoresis: When using 12.5 µL Dako A0430 per square cm gel area against 2 µL human plasma or 2 µL concentrated urine from patients with tubular proteinuria no precipitate is seen.
As demonstrated by immunocytochemistry, the antibody cross-reacts with the chromogranin A-equivalent protein in cow, horse and swine.
Protein concentration g/L: See label on vial.

FLEX Polyclonal Rabbit Anti-Human Chromogranin A, Ready-to-Use (Link), is intended for use in immunohistochemistry together with Autostainer Link instruments. This antibody labels chromogranin A present in secretory granules of endocrine cells (1). Chromogranin A is a marker for neuroendocrine differentiation and antibodies to chromogranin A are useful for identification of neuroendocrine-derived tumors. The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
As demonstrated by immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections, the antibody cross-reacts with the chromogranin A-equivalent protein in cow, horse and swine.
