Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human

Neuron-Specific Enolase (NSE)

Clone BBS/NC/VI-H14

Neuron-specific enolase is one of three main groups of enolases, the other two being non-neuronal enolase and muscle-specific enolase.

The antibody labels both normal and neoplastic cells of neuronal and neuroendocrine origin. Although neuron-specific enolase is not an exclusive neuronal marker, it may be used for the identification of peripheral nerves, neural and neuroendocrine tumors, such as neuroblastomas, retinoblastomas, desmoplastic malignant melanoma, and small-cell lung cancer.

Schwannoma (FFPE) stained with FLEX Anti-Neuron-Specific Enolase, Code IR612/IS612.

Schwannoma. The neoplastic cells show a weak to moderate staining reaction.

Clinical application for IR612/IS612 For identification of both normal neuronal and neuroendocrine cells and corresponding tumors such as schwannoma and carcinoid tumors.

Carcinoid tumor. The neoplastic cells show a moderate to strong granular cytoplasmic staining reaction.

Clinical application for IR612/IS612 For identification of both normal neuronal and neuroendocrine cells and corresponding tumors such as schwannoma and carcinoid tumors.

Colon. The neuroendocrine cells of the mucosa and the ganglion cells show a moderate to strong granular cytoplasmic and nuclear staining reaction. The axons show a weak to moderate granular cytoplasmic staining reaction. The epithelial cells should be negative.

Recommended control for IR612/IS612. Appendix/Colon/Pancreas.
