In immunocytochemistry, antibodies to human may be a useful tool in the differentiation of neuroendocrine tumours (1, 2). Differential identification is aided by the results from a panel of antibodies. Interpretation of results must be made within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a certified professional.

Specificity
In immunoblotting of total soluble proteins from human brain, the antibody labels a band corresponding to PGP 9.5.
In crossed immunoelectrophoresis, using 12.5 µL antibody per cm 2 gel area against 2 µL of human plasma, a weak precipitate corresponding to albumin appears. Staining: Coomassie Brilliant Blue.
As demonstrated by immunocytochemistry, the antibody labels the PGP 9.5-equivalent protein in sheep (5).
