Polyclonal Rabbit Anti-
Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1
The antigen used for immunization has been prepared by sonication and extraction of herpes simplex virus type 1-infected rabbit cornea cells. In the antigen all the virus proteins are present. The antibody reacts with type-specific, i.e. HSV-1, as well as with type-common, i.e. also with HSV-2, antigens.
- Frozen
- Formalin
- Excellent specificity
- High lot to lot consistency
- Optimized for immunohistochemistry (IHC) with validated protocols
- Certified manufacturing facilities guarantee full quality control
Polyclonal Rabbit Anti-Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (MacIntyre) is well-suited for the detection of HSV in human cellular material obtained from superficial lesions or biopsies and for identification of HSV in infected tissue cultures. Interpretation of results must be made within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a certified professional.
In ELISA the antibody shows no reaction with human and bovine plasma. The antibody shows no cross-reactivity to cytomegalovirus andEpstein-Barr virus.
In indirect immunofluorescence a weak cross-reactivity to varicella zoster virus can be expected if the antibody is used in a relatively highconcentration. However, no cross-reactivity was found when the antibody was tested at a dilution of 1:100.
Protein concentration: See label on vial.

FITC-Conjugated Polyclonal Rabbit Anti-Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (MacIntyre) is for detection of HSV in cellular material obtained from superficial lesions or biopsies and for identification of HSV in infected tissue cultures by direct immunofluorescence.
Contaminating antibodies to human and bovine serum have been removed by solid-phase absorption.
The antibody shows no reaction with human and bovine plasma when tested by ELISA. The antibody shows no cross-reactivity to cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus. A weak cross-reactivity to varicella zoster virus can be expected if the anti-body is used in a relatively high concentration. However, no cross-reactivity was found when the antibody used for conjugation was tested by the sensitive indirect immunofluorescence procedure at a dilution of 1:100.
Protein concentration g/L: See label on vial.
F/P ratio: E495 nm/E278 nm = 0.65 ± 0.05 corresponding to a molar FITC/protein ratio of 2.3.
