Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human
Cytokeratin, High Molecular Weight
Clone 34βE12
Reacts with the 68 kDa, 58 kDa, 56.5 kDa and 50 kDa proteins corresponding to cytokeratins 1, 5, 10 and 14.
The antibody labels squamous, ductal and complex epithelia, and is useful in the differentiation of benign prostate glands from prostatic adenocarcinoma and the classification of neoplastic tissue as carcinoma or epithelial origin.
Prostate adenocarcinoma (FFPE) stained with FLEX Anti-Cytokeratin, High Molecular Weight, Code IR051/IS051.
Prostate adenocarcinoma. Various staining reaction patterns are seen: Continuous cytoplasmic staining in normal gland, discontinuous pattern in PIN and no staining in invasive cancer cells.
Clinical application for IR051/IS051. For differential diagnosis between prostatic adenocarcinoma and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) or its benign mimics such as atypical hyperplasia.
Disclaimer: Due to variances among color computer monitors, the colors you see on your screen may not be the exact colors of the stain. The image you see should be considered close renditions to the actual stain.
- Optimized staining performance of both high- and low-expression structures
- Crisp and clear staining with no background
- Optimal laboratory efficiency with ready-to-use antibodies on Dako Autostainer Link 48
FLEX Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human Cytokeratin, High Molecular Weight, Clone 34βE12, Ready-to-Use (Link), is intended for use in immunohistochemistry together with Autostainer Link instruments. This antibody is useful for the identification of basal cells and squamous epithelium in various tissues. Positive results aid in the differentiation of benign prostate glands from prostatic adenocarcinoma and the classification of neoplastic tissue as carcinoma or epithelial origin. The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
Shah et al. (5) suggested clinical usefulness of anti-CK HMW, 34βE12 as an aid in the differentiation of Paget's disease and Bowen's disease (carcinoma in situ) from Pagetoid superficial spreading melanoma. Anti-CK HMW, 34βE12 positivity was reported in Paget's disease of the breast (5/5) and Bowen's disease (10/10), although 25% (1/4) of Paget's disease of the vulva and 0/6 of the Pagetoid superficial spreading melanomas stained (5).
